MCA Spring & Summer AcAdemIES

MCA is proud to announce dates for our spring and summer 2025 Academies designed to help players improve their skills in an intensive clinic style setting designed to prepare them for fall high school tryouts.

_______________________

Advanced Academy (girls) - Our Advanced Academy is for players working on pushing their game to the next level. We will be focusing on advanced concepts as well as detailed skill development and will be running at the speed and intensity of what players could expect from a typical Varsity level practice. Gameplay will be included but only as a means of reinforcing presented topics. The goal is to prep players to not only compete for spots on a Varsity team but to make their respective starting lineups as well.

Intermediate Academy (girls) - The Junior Academy is designed for rising Freshmen/Sophomore players who want to get some solid work in on fundamental skills a well as begin to learn about the tactics, patterns, and schemes associated with higher level volleyball. Skills work will include passing, hitting, setting, blocking, and serving with focus on improving overall technique in order to execute “volleyball movements” in a consistent manner. Just as with the Senior Academy - gameplay will be included as a means of reinforce presented topics and players can expect each session to be structured like a typical JV level practice.

Beginner Academy (boys and girls) - The Beginner Academy is for players looking to get started on their volleyball journey. The Beginner Academy is meant to get players started with the basic techniques and skills necessary to play volleyball at the competitive level in the future. Passing, hitting, setting, blocking, and serving will all be covered with the emphasis on correct basic form and learning the terminology of the game.

Boys Academy (boys) - The Boys Academy is for BOYS ONLY! Similar in nature to the Intermediate/Advanced Academies but using a boys height net. Players will work on all skills, with an emphasis on both skills and vollebyall IQ with gameplay to reinforce skills learned. Beginning boys should consider the Beginner Academy as these sessions are for boys with at least one season of high school or club.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHICH SESSION IS RIGHT FOR YOU - PLEASE SEE OUR SKILL DEVELOPMENT LEVELS BELOW

Skills Development Levels

Developing as a volleyball player means finding your optimal learning space. This means determining the correct level of instruction based on your current ability, so you can continue to develop and improve as a player, without frustration that will overwhelm you and inhibit your growth.
