  • Program Details

These sessions are meant to serve as supplemental training for players who would like to improve their mechanics and technique for the four major facets of the game - serving, passing, setting and hitting/blocking. These are meant to be slow and methodical in order to help players improve their technique in controlled environment.

Cost: $45 per player per session (1.5 hours)

Please Note: We will be alternating weeks by skill level. Each session will be tailored to the players that are attending.

Intermediate sessions will be geared toward players that have some experience (i.e. players who have some knowledge of individual skills - passing, serving, hitting, etc. but may still struggle with consistency, power, or control).

Advanced sessions will be for players who have a proficiency at a given skill but are working to refine their technique (i.e. footwork for hitting up-tempo sets, serving with improved accuracy and/or power, etc.)

FAQS

Q: My child plays club - why do I need this?
A: All the coaches at MCA are club coaches and one thing that we all will tell you is that during club we are trying to build skills teamwide. While we do work to help all of the players to improve at their chosen position we rarely have time to do a deep dive into the fine grain technique associated with each skill.

Q: Who should attend this?
A: Realistically any player who wants to improve at their position or work on a second position. Even Division I collegiate players work on their technique and form. Becoming more proficient means becoming more efficient, becoming more efficient makes you more effective, and being more effective helps both the individual improve as well as helping their team compete at a higher level.

Q: What can my child expect?
A: Coaches will break down individual technique issues and help guide players to executing “volleyball moves” in a proper manner. This helps reduce wear and tear (and thus reduce the chance of injury) as well as open a player up to being able to execute a certain skill without thinking about it beforehand which leads to increased confidence to “ go for it” on the court.
